Just last week, on a particularly surreal day, I said to someone, “Mercury must be in retrograde.” And they smiled and said, “Oh no, not until the end of the month.” Lovely.
Well, today’s the day.
Now until April 23rd, it’s bound to get interesting. But interesting doesn’t have to be a bad thing. And so, in honor of this heap of astrological chaos, five great things other people said (including my all-time favorite Emerson quote above).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. – Herm Albright
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. – Buddha
Be content with your lot; one cannot be first in everything. – Aesop
Your intuition will save you from dangerous situations and prevent you making wrong turns, as long as you shut up and listen. -Stephen Russell
Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
