Accentuate the positive: Pinterest, Flickr, well done on attributions

I was beyond thrilled when I read Pinterest’s latest blog post this morning.

Photographs with attribution directly back to the source.

“Attribution appears below the pin’s description and provides a permanent link to the work, its author, and where they host their content. Because attribution cannot be edited, photographers can rest assured that pins and repins of their work will credit and link back to them.”

This will also be used by Behance (who you know I had personal concerns about ), YouTube and Vimeo.

I believe that Pinterest can be better and this is a HUGE step in that direction. A HUGE LEAP.

Next, let’s see this occurring for And as my friend Kal says, next up let’s see this attribution occurring for artists and writers and artists, who share their inspiration with the world.
